gracefully entered my life, weaving through the bustling presence of children, teenagers, and vibrant parents.<\/p><p>Esther wandered through her own existence, seemingly detached from the world around her. Yet, despite her silent and distant demeanor, we found ways to communicate. Our hands embraced with tender reassurance, and our gazes spoke a language all their own.<\/p><p>As time marched on, the children flew the nest, leaving behind a quieter space for my parents, Rachel, my mother began her own odyssey into the depths of dementia. While I couldn&#8217;t physically accompany her, my father faithfully stood by her side, supporting her until the end of her journey.<\/p><p>Soon after, my Aunt Ren\u00e9e embarked on a similar path, departing from our shared reality.<\/p><p>Powerless and unaware of this travel destination that the women in my family were exploring in the twilight of their lives, I decided to go and meet those who know, those who live and those who accompany travellers to the heart of our dementia.<\/p><p>Then, after spending about a decade alongside and transforming with humans who had embarked on this psychological adventure, I found myself older and wiser.<\/p><p>In the company of those whose past had faded and whose future was abstract, I became aware of the importance of the only time that truly exists, which is the present, the moment.
